Pope canonises India's first female saint

Indian Roman Catholics have their first female saint.Pope Benedict's canonisation of Sister Alphonsa comes at a time when Christians have been attacked by Hindu mobs in eastern and southern India. The Archbishop of Delhi, Vincent M Concessao, has spoken out against the violence."What's happening there in Orissa, and what happened in Karnataka are very bad reflections on some of our people," he said."Again I would say, it's a fringe group that does not believe in our constitution."They are not only against minorities, they are against the people of India."
